Celebrated Americana/folk duo The Lowest Pair return on January 23 rd
with the stunning Always As Young As We’ll Ever Be, their first studio album in six
years. Produced by Tucker Martine (The Decemberists, My Morning Jacket, Neko
Case), Always As Young As We’ll Ever Be finds Kendl Winter and Palmer T. Lee (aka
The Lowest Pair) expanding their sonic palette without losing the captivating
minimalism that has defined their sound. The enchanting new track “Give It All Away”
reflects on the complexities between hanging on and letting go, and the desire for
renewal. Listen HERE.
Always As Young As We’ll Ever Be is comprised of 10-songs that do not seek to
escape life’s problems but instead sit with them and find the wonder in uncertainty and
grace in imperfection. While each track can exist individually, when put together they
create an album that unfolds much like a spiritual metamorphosis with each song
serving as a different stage in the shedding of old skins.
With its tender vocal harmonies, “The Uncertain Seas” addresses longing, emotional
disconnection and the challenges of navigating a relationship. “Diamonds” celebrates
resilience and desire, while “Tiny Rebellions” offers a stylistic departure with the
realization that personal transformations can be difficult but there is light after darkness.
The touching “Quantum Physics” delicately frames love as shifting energies
emphasizing continuous movement and change, as “Shitty Light” shines as a personal
awakening with eyes now wide open as the impassioned vocals interweave through the
folky crescendo.
With an impressive seven album catalog, an adoring fan base, and years on the road,
Winter and Lee have reached another artistic plateau with Always As Young As We’ll
Ever Be. The Lowest Pair remind us that love, grief, joy, disappointment, failure and
renewal are all part of the same beautiful cycle, one that affects us all but one that also
interconnects us all.
The Lowest Pair recently announced a European Tour in January and February 2026.
